Toward Real-time MRI: Advanced in Parallel Imaging and Compressed Sensing

Abstract:

 

My research is focused on development of image reconstruction techniques to accelerate MRI. In this talk, I will discuss the outstanding challenges in parallel imaging and compressed sensing, and present some approaches developed in my lab to address these challenges. Results from phantom and in vivo imaging experiments will be presented to demonstrate the accelerations that can be achieved and the potential for real-time imaging.

 

Short Bio

 

Leslie Ying received her B.Eng. in Electronics Engineering from Tsinghua University, China in 1997 and both her M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana - Champaign in 1999 and 2003, respectively. She is now an Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Electrical Engineering at SUNY Buffalo. Her research interests include magnetic resonance imaging, compressed sensing, and image reconstruction. She published more than 60 peer-reviewed papers and holds 3 US patents. She received a CAREER award from the National Science Foundation in 2009. She is currently serving on the AdCom of IEEE EMBS and is a Deputy Editor of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine.
